I recommend for all ages and skill levels. The technical level and experience of instructors and several of the students are like no other. A large number of them are international champions and more are getting ready for the challenge, like me. It is a traditional dojo, it is expected discipline, respect and hard work. Two things I think to be unique, first is the supportive environment (competitive yes, but it is like a big family of champions sharing their best) and the second is the intellectual teachings (origin of techniques, comparisons with other martial arts) which is making me sharper as a karate-ka and a person.

Stephen Robinson

Biography

Chief Instructor: Shihan Stephen Robinson, 7^th Dan

Shihan Robinson teaches teenage and adult karate classes at TBK. He is Nana Dan (7th degree black belt) in shotokan karate with more than 30 years of training. Shihan has developed and coached 15 world karate champions at Triangle’s Best Karate. He trains karate and kata everyday and designs challenging workouts at the dojo. He spends many weekends officiating and training referees. Robinson was appointed to the National Referee Council for AAU Karate in 2009 and to the World Union of Karate-do Federations (WUKF) Referee Commission in 2018, where his title now is Vice President of WUKF. In 2023, Robinson became a Rookie Ambassador for the Men Wear Pink fundraising campaign for the American Cancer Society.
