Sensei Regina Miyojim prioritized karate training with her demanding career, worked through chronic back and knee injuries, and traveled to distant AAU events, to realize several important goals in 2026. She wanted to reach a higher officiating rank and beat tough competitors at the National Championships and WUKF World Championships!
At the North American Open (April competition in Las Vegas), Sensei Regina competed and officiated to secure a Continental Referee rank. At the National Championships (June competition in Ft. Lauderdale), Sensei again competed and officiated to secure a separate National Referee rank. And most impressive, she traveled to Cluj, Romania, with the goal of winning the gold in Individual and Team Sparring. Well, she did more than that!

She loves traveling, eating well, cheering on others, doing her best and making friends with the people she beats! Mission Achieved!
